The VESDA OSE-HPW is the high power, externally wired emitter for the OSID open-area smoke imaging detection system. It sends coded ultraviolet and infrared light pulses to an OSID imager, which uses the two wavelengths to tell smoke apart from dust, steam and objects in the beam path.
- High power emitter, externally powered: 800 µA at 24 VDC
- Supply 20 to 30 VDC; field wiring 26 to 12 AWG
- Range 12 to 68 m (39 to 223 ft) with an OSI-90 imager
- Range 30 to 120 m (98 to 393 ft) with an OSI-45 imager
- One OSI-45 or OSI-90 imager can track up to seven emitters

The emitter does not signal alarms on its own; the imager provides the alarm and trouble relays. OSE-SPW is the standard power wired emitter.
